Cream Cheese Frosting (or Chocolate Cream Cheese Frosting!)

Nothing in this world is quite so heavenly as a good recipe for a Cream Cheese Frosting. This is eat-it-with-a-spoon good, so beware. Let the cream cheese and the butter sit out on the counter for about an hour before you intend to make this. Don’t go ruining it by using low fat cream cheese either….

Prep Time: 5 minutes (after everything is softened up that is)
Yields: 3 Cups

1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
1/2 C (or 1 stick) butter, softened (use salted butter!)
1 lb (or one small box or 4 Cups) powdered sugar
1 T milk
1 t vanilla or almond extract

1. Beat the softened cream cheese in a mixer on medium speed with butter until smooth-no lumps! Gradually add powdered sugar and milk alternately and according to your preference of how thin/thick you like it.  Add vanilla or almond last and fold in.

Keep refrigerated!

**For Chocolate Cream Cheese Frosting, add 1/3 C unsweetened cocoa powder and beat until smooth.
